Boucan

Donner un boucan. To give a dance. Boucan or Bocan was a musician and dancing master in the middle of the seventeenth century. He was alive in 1645.

“Thibaut se dit estre Mercure,

Et lʹorgueilleux Colin nous jure

Quʹil est aussi bien Apollon

Que Boccan est bon violon.”
