Cymodʹoce (4 syl.)

A sea nymph and companion of Venus. (Virgil: Georgic, iv. 338; and again, Æneid, v. 826.) The word means “wave-receiving.”

The Garden of Cymodʹoce. Sark, one of the Channel islands. It is the title of a poem by Swinburne, 1880.
