Dwarf Alberich (in the Nibelungen Lied)

is the guardian of the famous “hoard” won by Siegfried from the Nibelungs. The dwarf is twice vanquished by the hero, who gets possession of his Tarn-kappë (cloak of invisibility). (See Elberich.)
