Ulaʹnia
,Queen of Perduʹta or Islanda, sent a golden shield to Charlemagne, which he was to give to his bravest paladin. Whoever could win the shield from this paladin was to claim the hand of Ulania in marriage. (Orlando Furioso, bk. xv.)
