, professor of law at Leipsic, was born at Bescow, in Lower Lusatia, February 28, 1698. He | was eminent for his learning, and assisted in the Journals of Leipsic, at which place he died April 7, 1731, aged thirty-three. Corte published an edition of Sallust, printed at Leipsic, 1724, 4to, with notes, which is much esteemed, “Tres Satyrae Mennipeae,” Leipsic, 1720, 8vo, and other works. 1
