, a star of the fourth magnitude, in the flexure of the constellation Eridanus.

ARGO NAVIS, or the ship, is a constellation of fixed stars, in the southern hemisphere, being one of the 48 old constellations. The number of stars in this constellation, are, in Ptolemy's catalogue 45, in Tycho Brahe's 11, in Flamsteed's 64.

The Greeks tell us, that this was the famous ship in which the Argonauts performed that celebrated expedition, which has been so famous in all their history.
