DECLINERS

, or Declining Dials, are those which cut obliquely, either the plane of the prime vertical circle, or the plane of the horizon.

The use of declining vertical dials is very frequent; because the erect walls of houses, on which dials are commonly drawn, mostly decline from the cardinal points. But incliners and recliners are very rare.
