Dobell, Sidney, poet, born at Cranbrook, in Kent; wrote, under the pseudonym of Sidney Yendys, the “Roman,” a drama, “Balder,” and, along with Alexander Smith, sonnets on the war (the Crimean); suffered much from weak health (18241874).
