Duclos, Charles (17041772)

Duclos, Charles, a witty and satirical French writer, born at Dinan; author of “Observations,” and “A History of the Manners of the Eighteenth Century,” and “Mémoires of the Reigns of Louis XIV. and Louis XV.”; he mingled much in French society of the period, and took studious note of its passing whims (17041772).
