Körner, Karl Theodor (17911813)

Körner, Karl Theodor, a German soldier poet, often called the German Tyrtæus, born in Dresden; famous for his patriotic songs and their influence on German patriots; fell in a skirmish with the French at Mecklenburg (17911813).
