Rapin de Thoyras (16611725)

Rapin de Thoyras, French historian, born at Castres; driven from France by the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes, settled in Holland, came over to England with and served under the Prince of Orange, withdrew to Holland and wrote a “History of England,” deservedly much in repute for long, if not still (16611725).
