, St. born at Alexandria, bishop of Laodicea in Syria, in 269, cultivated successfully arithmetic,
geometry, grammar, and rhetoric. Some works of his are
still remaining; among others, a tract on Easter, printed
in the Doctrina temporum of Bucherius, Antwerp, 1634,
