sometimes of Brasnose coll. was consecrated Bishop of Exeter in Aug. 1574. died in the latter end of fifteen hundred ninety and three, 1593 and was buried on the south side of the choire or presbytery of his Cathedral. Over his grave was soon after put an Epitaph, the beginning of which is this.

Hic jacet, haud jacet hic tumulo quem credis inesse,

Terra nequit tantum contumulare virum.
