Arnaldo, Peter Anthony

, was born in 1638, at Villa Franca in the province of Nice, and in his seventeenth year began the study of theology at the college of Brera in Milan, where he obtained his doctor’s degree, and was afterwards appointed apostolic prothonotary. The time of his death is not mentioned. Besides some devotional works, he published, 1. “Un.Discours sur Inauguration du pape Aiexandre VII. et un Eloge de I'eveque de Nice.” 2. “Honorato II. principi Monacaeo, &c. poeticae gratulationes,Milan, 4to. 3. “La gloria vestita a lutto per la morte di Carlo Emmamielle II. duca di Savoia,Turin, 1676, 4to, a poem in the ottava rima. 4. “II Giardin del Piemonte oggi vivente nell' anno 1673, diviso in principi, dame, prelati, abati, cavalieri, ministri, &c.Turin, 1683, 8vo, a collection of odes and sonnets in compliment to the principal personages of the court of Turin at that time. 2
