Sandemaʹnians or Glassites

.

A religious party expelled from the Church of Scotland for maintaining that national churches, being “kingdoms of this world,” are unlawful. Called Glassites from John Glass, the founder (1728), and called Sandemanians from Robert Sandĕman, who published a series of letters on the subject in 1755.
