Arnobius
, of Gaul, was a writer for the semi-pelagian doctrines, about the year 460, and wrote a “Commentary on the Psalms,” which was printed at Basle, 1537
and 1560, 8vo, and at Paris in 1539; Erasmus was the editor of one edition, and prefixed a preface to it. It is not a
work of extraordinary merit, but obtained reputation for
some time, by being mistaken for the production of Arnobius the African, in the preceding article. 2
