Aubert, Peter
, a French lawyer, was born in 1642
and died in 1733, leaving his library to the city of Lyons,
on condition that it should be open for the use of the public. He published a new edition of the “Dictionnaire de
Richelet” in 3 vols. 1728, fol. which has been superseded
by more recent editions. He was also the editor of “Un
recueil de Factums,” 2 vols. Lyons, 1710, 4to, and the
author of a little romance, entitled “Retour de l‘isle d’Amour,” which he published at his father’s request, when
he was only sixteen years of age. 2
