Peter Fontius, born in 1445, was a historian, an orator,
| and a grammarian, and in high esteem with Picus Mirandula, Marsilius Ficinus, Jerome Donatus, and all the literati of his age and country. He had the care of collecting
books for the library of Matthew Corvinus, king of Hungary at Buda. He wrote a commentary on Persius, printed
at Venice in 1491, and some orations, which were republishecl together at Frankfort, in 1621, 8vo; and died in
