.—the solid representation of a living being. The Hon. Mrs. Damer has gained much credit by her masterly execution of the king in a marble bust; which idea gave birth to the two following impromptu’s.
I.
Lord! what a lumpish, senseless thing!
And yet ’tis very like the king!
II.
Why strive to animate the marble rock,
His sacred majesty’s more like the block!
