Knowles, Sheridan (17841862)

Knowles, Sheridan, dramatist, born at Cork; was connected with the stage first as actor and then as an author of plays, which include “Virginius,” “The Hunchback,” and “The Wife”; latterly he gave up the stage, and took to preaching in connection with the Baptist body (17841862).
