Töpffer, Rudolf, caricaturist and novelist of Geneva, where he founded a boarding-school, and became professor of Rhetoric in the Geneva Academy; author of some charming novels, “Nouvelles Genévoises,” “La Bibliothèque de mon Oncle,” &c. (1799‒1846).
