Canens

.

A nymph, wife of Picus, King of the Laurentēs. When Circê had changed Picus into a bird, Canens lamented him so greatly that she pined away, till she became a vox et prœterca nihil. (Ovid: Metamorphoses, 14 fab. 9.)
