Faërie or Feerie

The land of the fays or faeries. The chief fay realms are Avʹalon, an island somewhere in the ocean; Oʹberon’s dominions, situate “in wilderness among the holtis hairy;” and a realm somewhere in the middle of the earth, where was Pari Banou’s palace.

“For learnëd Colin [Spenser] lays his pipes to gage,

And is to Faëry gone a pilgrimage.”
