Typhœʹus
. A giant with a hundred heads, fearful eyes, and a most terrible voice. He was the father of the Harpies. Zeus [Zuce] killed him with a thunderbolt, and he lies buried under Mount Etna. (Hesiod: Theogony.) (See Giants.)
