Frizon, Peter
, a doctor of the Sorbonne, born in
the diocese of Rheims, was penitentiary of that church,
and afterwards grand -master of the college of Navarre at
Paris. He died in 1651. He published in 1629 a history
of the French cardinals, entitled “Gallia Purpurata,” 1638,
fol. M. Baluze has pointed out a great number of faults
in this work, in his “Antifrizonius,”and his “History
of the Popes of Avignon.” Frizon also published an edition of the Bible of Louvain, with a method of distinguishing the Catholic French translations of the Bible from the
Protestant, 121, fol. 2
