Bashi-Bazouks

Bashi-Bazouks (Bashi-Bazouks`) , irregular, undisciplined troops in the pay of the Sultan; rendered themselves odious by their brutality in the Bulgarian atrocities of 1876, as well as, more or less, in the time of the Crimean war.
