Remigius, St.

, a very celebrated archbishop of Rheims, was born of an illustrious family, and heir to great wealth. He was raised to the see of Rheims about the year 460; distinguished himself by his learning and virtue, converted and baptised king Clovis, and died about January 23, in the year 533. Some Letters, and a Testament, in the library of the Fathers, and in Marlot’s History of Rheims, are attributed to him. 3
