Laguna, Andrew
, a physician, born at Segovia in
1499, was high in the confidence of the emperor Charles
V. at whose court he passed a considerable part of his life.
He published “Annotations upon Dioscorides” and an
“Epitome of the Works of Galen,” with a life of this
author and “A Treatise of Weights and Measures.” He
was a respectable critic, and died in 1560. 2
