Larry, Dominique Jean, Baron, a celebrated military surgeon; distinguished for the organisation he instituted of the “flying ambulance” for the care of the wounded in battle; accompanied Napoleon to Egypt; served in the Russian campaign; was wounded and taken prisoner at Waterloo; wrote treatises on army surgery (17661842).
