Besiers, Michael
, a canon of St. Sepulchre’s at
Caen, and a member of the academies of Caen and Cherburgh, was born at St. Malo, and died at Caen, Dec. 1782.
He published, 1. “Chronologic historique des baillis et
des gouverneurs de Caen,” 1769, 12mo. 2. “Histoire
sommaire de la ville de Bayeux,” 1773, 12mo. 3. “Memoires historiques sur l’origine et le fondateur de la coHegiale du St. Sepulcre a Caen, avec le catalogue de ses
doyens.” 4. Various dissertations in the literary Journals,
in D’Expilly’s “Dictionnaire de France,” and in that of
the nobility, &c. 2
