Pinto, Mendez, a Portuguese traveller; wrote in his “Peregriniçam” an account of his marvellous adventures in Arabia, Persia, China, and Japan, extending over a period of 21 years (1527-1548), of which, amid much exaggeration, the general veracity is admitted (15101583).
