Astorini, Elias
, born in the province of Cosenza
in the kingdom of Naples in 1651, was first a Carmelite,
and afterwards professor of mathematics and natural philosophy. He died in 1702, leaving the following publications, 1. “A dissertation on the life of the Fcetus in utero”
1686. 2. “A translation of the Elements of Euclid,”
1691. 3. “A treatise on the power of the Holy See,”
1693. 4. “A translation of Apollonius on Conic Sections,” 1702, 4to. 2
